Note Card Class

On Friday night, we had Note Card class.  Originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon, we decided to save Sunday for enjoying the beautiful weather.

For only $15, participants received their own package of Stampin' Up!'s Note Cards and everything required to complete 5 cards.

A "Thinking of You" card made with Sheltering Tree (a favourite stamp that made it into the new annual catalogue- Yay!!)

A "Feel Better" card using the Flower Patch stamp set and a greeting from Sassy Salutations another favourite set of mine that will be returning in the new catalogue.

The Vivid Vases card was stamp using some Strawberry Slush DSP (retiring) and the paper piecing technique. Then, to give the vases a more authentic look, they were coated with Crystal Effects which creates a glossy "glass-like" look.  This is one of my new favourites. I am a little embarrased to admit that I haven't used this product in the past but it's awesome. Quick drying and SO shiny.  Watch for more projects from me using Crystal Effects.

Finally, a simple "Thank You" card.  To me, the Note Card packs from Stampin' Up! are meant for cards like this; cards you can create in 5 minutes or less. The Watercolour Thank You greeting was stamped in Sahara Sand and then a simple stamp from a Sale-A-Bration set called Simply Wonderful placed just above the greeting and embellished with a pearl from a package of Pearl Basic Jewels adds just the right amount of "bling".

The class was advertised as a 4 card class but my friends are all advanced stampers so I decided to add a 5th card that was a little different.

This birthday card, create in black and white, was so fun to make.  Using stamps from the Big News set and some small scraps of paper from the Back to Black DSP pack and a few other little embellishments (gold buttons, Whisper White baker's twine and some now retired, library clips).

What made this card a little different was the envelope. Created using the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack from Sale-A-Bration and the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  The card was finished with a  little tag and sentiment from Work of Art stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I am currently working on projects for Friday's Stamp Club which will include, for one, a cute gift card holder for the coffee lover in your life.
